JediSheltie's Mainstream Comic News for April 26th

When your internet is monitored at work, it's not like you have much option in terms of goofing off by surfing, so you stick with the safe stuff, like CNN...
Slow News Day in Serbia
So, you find a new mineral, it's not green, but based on some hard core Superman Returns DVD pausing, you call it "Kryptonite" and soak up the wire service love. It is "a white, powdery substance which contains no fluorine and is non-radioactive."
Sorry folks, the only way to really sell something as the big K is for it to look like Kryptonite but not have any scientific correlation to the "actual" make-up. That's how the masses like it. I'll even nitpick that the formula is from Superman Returns, which, though a fine film, can't really be considered complete comic 'canon' at the moment.
50/50 On the Whole "Famous Author" Thing
CNN has also picked up on Jodi Picoult's run on Wonder Woman. In an interview that didn't break much new ground from anything previously published on Newsarama, she outlines why took the job, and what she wants to do with the character. It's mostly interesting because it's some decent mainstream press for the title. I was honestly surprised to see it.
No mention of the previous little "hiccup" as far as famous authors go.
